Online Dictionaries

There are many online dictionaries out there. Here are the ones I use the most, both when I'm studying by myself and when I'm teaching.

Sometimes you won't find the definition of a particular word in a dictionary, maybe because it's slang or maybe it's just an expression used by a specific group of people.

But don't worry! Nowadays we have GOOGLE, and you can find virtually everything through it. Here's a tip:

1. Access Google
2. Type: "define: (word)"
3. You'll see the definition, listen to the pronunciation, and it's also possible to see the translation.

** Example of a search on Google **

Chances are you will find what you need.

Playlists by themes (Part 1)

Motivational

Some songs make me feel like I have the power to conquer the world. Actually, there are a lot of songs that make me feel like that. However, as a teacher, I chose the ones that we can actually learn something from the lyrics.

This playlist has mainly three music styles: rock'n'roll, hip-hop, and techno.

Rock'n'roll has always been a constant in my life. I have listened to it since I was a child. On the other hand, hip-hop is something new to me. I am discovering artists and songs that have been out there for a while that I have never heard before. It is never too late to experience something new!

You will notice that all the songs have an upbeat and fast pace. The lyrics, like I said before, also matter. Most of them are about being brave or overcoming challenges.

PS.: I always listen to this playlist when I am doing chores around the house. 😁

My top 10 motivational songs:

1. Metalingus, Alter Bridge, Rock

2. One day remains, Alter Bridge, Rock

3. Eye of the tiger, Survivor, Classic rock

4. I’m alive, Disturbed, Rock

5. Thunder, Imagine Dragons, Rock

6. It's my life, Bon Jovi, Rock

7. Heart of a lion, Kid Cudi, Hip-hop

8. Don't stop believing, Journey, Classic Rock

9. Believe, Franka Potente, Techno

10. Titanium, David Guetta feat. Sia, Techno

Welcome!

😊 Hello, dear student. πŸ˜Š

I finally started working on my very own blog. What makes me really excited about it is that everyone will be able to see and comment on my posts. Plus, I have so many things to share with you and I believe this is the easiest way to do it.

Here you will find some material that may help you with your studies, such as books, presentations, audio files, interesting websites, and many other things. Most of the material I am sharing I downloaded from the Internet over the years, and the other part I got from friends, colleagues, and even students. I will also share personal moments through pictures, videos, and some writings.

Finally, this blog will be an opportunity for me to practice writing in English. Writing is a challenge I need to overcome. So, if you are my student, you will see that writing in English is like riding a bike: you will only master it if you do it by yourself.

Thank you for stopping by!

Regards,

Teacher Ingrid Pagotto.
